Donald Trump Retweets White Supremicist Welcome to the New President of the United States

It has come to this - Donald Trump the would be president of the United States, retweeting a tweet from a White Supremicist. If you don't know what "retweeting" is all about it is a message from one person  reposted by another person to gain maximum attention - the more retweets, the more popular the post becomes. Now you would only retweet a post you like or from someone you are a faan of or a post that you agree with and a message you approve of, right?  Here is the Tweet:

The presidency of the United States when age does matter

I firmly believe that age is a number, that it shouldn't determine if someone gets the job or not as long as they are physically and mentally capable of performing it. But there are limits, especially when it comes to being president of the United States or any country. Take Bernie Sanders. I actually like the guy but I worry about what the presidency will do to him. I question why someone who should be enjoying retirement is fighting for the job of presidennt. We all see what happens to young men who become president. The grey hairs appear and ageing speeds up. Just look at the young dashing Barack Obama 8 years ago and look at him today. The Office of president does do a number on you. Now take Bernie Sanders, who in his seventies already look older than a seventy year old should. What toll will the presidency take on him?

There is a reason there is a thing called retirement. After a certain age, your body and mind starts to tire. It is a good time to take on a world cruise not  world politics.

You're Fired! Donald Trump gets his due

The press adores him. Donald Trump adores himself. We have heard endless chatter about his greatness, his strong poll numbers and the fact that he is a "winner" But in the much touted Iowa primary, Donald the winner became Donald the loser. He was "fired" so to speak. I actually hoped that Donald would win this one but he didn't. Instead it was Ted Cruz - the Canadian. Beaten by a Canadian! Oh Donald, you just have to make this right.

Donald Trump's boycott of Republican debate Is he afraid of Megyn Kelly?

Tantrum? Image Pixaby
How is it posssible that a female news anchor can drive so much fear in the mighty Donald Trump? Megyn Kelly may be Trump's worse nighmare . She is a woman who dares to ask him the tough questions and knowing his opinon about women, he must be very disconcerted by her. How dare she? FOX has refused to give into Trump's tantrums in this latest episode but it remains to be seen how long they would be able to hold out. According to Trump, they need the advertising dollars he generates so what's a network to do?  The thing that shocks me about Trump's latest tantrum is how childish it appears. Can we trust him to deal with the tough leaders, men or women who may not treat him with kid gloves ? Will he refuse to negotiate or talk to countries or people he thinks hurt his feelings? Can we trust him to keep his emotions in check when making the tough decisions?

Can Canadian born, Ted Cruz, become president of the United States?

When Ted Cruz first  announced on Twitter that he will be running for the Republican nomination for president my thought was, "don't you have to be born American to run for president of the United States?"  The 44 year old is Canadian born but has renounced his Canadian citizenship.

The whole fiasco reminds me of a scene from "The King of Queens" The scene was shot in 2003 when Doug on a visit to his parents learned that he was lied to by his protective parents. One of the lies revealed was that he was born in Canada, to which Doug responded "Oh my god I am Canadian? what if I were to run for president what would I do? I guess this is a question that never crossed Ted's mind.

The Tea Party is a strong supporter of the far right candidate who has taken a strong stance against the Obama health care policy and constantly spews hateful rhetoric toward Obama.  But he is anything but a shoe in for the Republican nomination since he is up against some other, more popular conservative candidates. After a period of silence on Ted Cruz birthright, his birth country has come back to haunt him in the election.

Ted Cruz only renounced his Canadian citizenship in 2014 - a strategic move? If we recall, conservatives went to all lengths to try to prove that Obama was born outside of the USA. They failed of course but there is no doubt about where Ted Cruz was born. Will this help or hurt him and do you have to be born in the USA to become president? Apparently not.
